Aaron Rodgers’ support shows who’s backing him

Aaron Rodgers was an expected no-show for the opening day of Tuesday compulsory Green Bay Packers minicamp, officially entering the realm of resistance.

While Packers president Mark Murphy claims the standoff has “divided our fan base”, Rodgers’ teammates are backing him – those who are at least ready to officially speak.

Two of the unnamed most prominent Packers Rodgers have both expressed support for their (ex?) Quarterback as Jordan Love took on the representatives of the first team behind the center Tuesday. It’s no surprise that the two are players who have a close working relationship with Rodgers – left tackle David Bakhtiari and wide receiver Davante Adams.

Davante Adams: “I’ll stand on the fucking mountain” for Rodgers

Adams, who previously spoke of a “special bond” with Rodgers and hinted that Rodgers’ exit could possibly mean his own also, made its position clear on Tuesday.

“I support him through everything, so he knows that at the end of the day, if he’s wondering if he’s lost a teammate or something like that because of everything that’s happened, he knows where I am, ”Adams said, by the Duluth News-Tribune. “I’m going to stand on the fucking mountain and scream at the top of the mountain for support.”

Adams had four assists at the Rodgers Pro Bowl and just finished a season leading the NFL in touchdowns and yards per game. Without a new contract, he will be an unrestricted free agent next season. Either way, he’s on his way to becoming one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL. It’s safe to say he’s invested in his relationship with Rodgers.

David Bakhtiari hopes Rodgers returns, favorable anyway

Bakhtiari, meanwhile, said the obvious in that he hopes Rodgers will return to Green Bay. But if he doesn’t, Bakhtiari supports any decision made by his friend and teammate.

“For me, I care about Aaron Rodgers from a friend’s perspective,” Bakhtiari said. “Whatever he wants to do, whatever situation arises, I will never hold it against him. He is my friend. He is someone I appreciated, and he did a lot for this. organization and a lot for me as an individual.

“Now as a teammate I would be a fool to say I don’t want the MVP to come back. He’s the league MVP last year. He did amazing things from a quarterback’s perspective, our quarterback position, but not just for the franchise, so absolutely.

Are there any Packers players who don’t support Aaron Rodgers?

As with Adams, the successes of Bakhtiari and Rodgers are inextricably linked. Bakhtiari is three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro while being Rodgers’ main protector. As with Adams, Bakhtiari has a close personal connection with Rodgers. It makes sense that both players defended Rodgers on Tuesday.

Does that mean there are some Green Bay Packers players who can’t stand Rodgers’ resistance? No. But for now, anyone who doesn’t do this isn’t making it public.
