    The line-up against Portugal presents a change from the starting XI who faced France at Le Havre in the USWNT’s last outing on April 13 with Lindsey Horan starting in midfield in place of Julie Ertz, who no isn’t in camp while recovering from an MCL injury.

  • The starting lineup has an average of 117 selections per player, with six of the 11 starters having more than 100 selections and each starter having more than 50 selections.

  • Captain and central defender Becky sauerbrunn gonna make him 185e appearance of the USA in the match against Portugal, good for 14e in the history of the USWNT. Sauerbrunn was the only USWNT player to play all 270 minutes of the 2021 SheBelieves Cup and is second on the team with 540 minutes played in 2021.

  • Goalie Alyssa naeher is about to win him 70e cap and make her sixth start in 2021. Naeher is the third most capped goalie in USWNT history, behind Hope Solo (202) and Briana Scurry (175). Naeher also ranks third with 40 career shutouts and has posted a clean sheet in 11 of his last 12 appearances for the USWNT.

  • Kelley O’Hara will make his fifth start of 2021 and should earn him 137e cap overall. It will be the third straight start of the year for O’Hara, who has played the full 90 minutes of each of the last two games for the United States and took the tying penalty on April 10 against Sweden.

  • Abby dahlkemper will make his 67th appearance for the USWNT tonight, which will also be his 60e start in 67 selections. Against Portugal on September 3, 2019, Dahlkemper became the 59th player in United States history to play 50 or more games. Dahlkemper topped the United States in total minutes played in 2019 and 2020 and has appeared in all but one game she has been available for during her USWNT career.

  • Dunn Crystal will make his seventh appearance and sixth start in 2021 with tonight’s game against Portugal, bringing his milestone total to 112. Dunn will now have played in 37 of 41 USA games since the start of 2019, making 35 starts during this period.

  • Lindsey Horan continues to approach the milestone of 100 caps and will make it 94e international aspect with tonight’s game against Portugal. Horan has appeared in every game for the United States so far in 2021 and is tied for the team lead with four assists this year. It has scored at least one goal or one assist in 10 of his last 15 appearances for the United States, with eight goals and seven assists in that span.

  • Samantha mewis will make his second straight start and fifth appearance of the year. Dating back to the 2020 SheBelieves Cup, Mewis will now have started seven of the last eight games in which she has been available for the United States, totaling three goals and one assist during that streak. Mewis is the team’s second scorer in 2021 and has 21 career goals. It will be his 73rd cap for the USWNT.

  • Rose Lavelle will bring him back 54e career cap and will make her ninth consecutive appearance for the United States, becoming the only player to appear in every USWNT game since resuming play in November 2020. This will be Lavelle’s sixth starting and eighth appearance in the United States. 2021. Lavelle has scored two of eight game-winning goals for the United States since resuming play in November 2020 and has four goals in his last 14 outings for the USWNT. Prior to that, Lavelle had scored four goals in his previous 21 appearances for the United States.

  • Christian Press will bring him back 145e course this evening and will make his fifth consecutive start. The press have now started seven of the last eight matches for which they were available. Press is in the midst of one of the best periods of her career as she was directly involved in 30 goals in her last 32 games for the USWNT, scoring 13 goals with 17 assists.

  • With 60 career goals and 39 assists, Press is just a goal or an assist to become the 14e player in United States history with at least 100 goals and assists during her international career.

  • Alex morgan will make his third start of the year and sixth overall appearance in 2021, while earning him 176e cap overall. Morgan was instrumental in both goals of the United States’ 2-0 victory over France on April 13 in their last outing, taking the penalty to establish the opening goal in the fifth minute and adding his own score to the 19e. Morgan’s goal was her second in 2021 and her second since the birth of her daughter Charlie in May 2019.

  • Megan Rapinoe enters the game against Portugal – who will be his 17th6e appearance for the United States – in the midst of the longest scoring streak of his international career, with goals in each of the last four games. In fact, Rapinoe leads the USWNT with seven goals in 2021 and has scored five goals in the last four games, starting with his second-half score in America’s 2-0 win over Brazil in the 2021 SheBelieves Cup. The last USWNT player to score in five or more straight games was Christen Press, who scored in six straight games in the last two games of 2019 and in the first four games of 2020.

  • Rapinoe has 59 career goals, overtaking Carin Gabarra for 11e of all time in USWNT history. She is one point tied with Shannon MacMillan and Christen Press – both of whom have 60 goals – for 9e on the USWNT scoreboards.
