Nkandla: Edward Zuma, son of former president Jacob Zuma, says the police will have to kill him before his father can be arrested.
Speaking to the media outside his family home in Nkandla on Tuesday afternoon, he boldly and repeatedly declared that law enforcement officers would have to kill him before they could arrest Zuma.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Constitutional Court sentenced Zuma Sr. to 15 months in prison for defying the ex-president’s order to appear before the committee and testify and declared he had no right to remain silent.
Edward Zuma said his father would not turn himself in to the police within five days as instructed by the country’s Supreme Court.
Edward, who was wearing an ANC shirt, also said the family would later meet with Zuma to discuss how to move forward.
