The former FIFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has been charged with fraud and corruption.
The charges relate to Anas Arimayo Anas Documentary No. 12 which exposed alleged corruption in football in 2018. Nyantakyi was also charged with conspiracy to commit fraud. The former head of the Northern Regional Football Association, Abdullah Al-Hassan, was also charged with a similar crime.
The two men pleaded not guilty and were released on bail in the amount of GHc1 with three guarantees to justify it.
Chief Justice Alfreda Dinke also ordered the attorney general to notify defense counsel of disclosures and witness statements to the defense before adjourning the case to July 23, 2021.
Kwesi Nyantakyi was arrested at Anas Aremeyaw Anas Show 12, where he allegedly collects monetary gifts and influences influence. He resigned as GFA President, and lost his positions as Member of the FIFA Council and First Vice President of CAF.
