All 11 occupants of passenger bus injured in Wisconsin crash

EAU PLEINE, Wisconsin (AP) — Authorities say all 11 occupants of a passenger van were injured when the vehicle rolled over an icy road in central Wisconsin on Thursday. They were transported to hospitals in the area for treatment.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on U.S. Highway 10, about half a mile east of the town of Eau Pleine. The van left the roadway, overturned and came to a stop in the median strip.

The condition of the injured is unknown. One occupant of the van was thrown from the vehicle and one was partially trapped and had to be freed, the sheriff said.

The accident was reported at 8:45 a.m. Thursday. Authorities said the van is designed to carry 15 passengers, WAOW-TV reported.

Several emergency services arrived on the scene. Two helicopters were contacted but were unable to respond due to bad weather.
