Braddon’s Fricken and Rashays in Greenway wins awards in Menulog’s Awards, Menulogies | The Canberra Times

what’s up, food and wine,

It seems that Canberrans like fried chicken. Or at least fried chicken from a certain restaurant. The results of Menulog’s annual restaurant awards – the Menulogies – were announced Tuesday, with Braddon’s Fricken receiving the ACT’s People’s Choice Award. The category was determined by more than 8,000 votes cast for favorite local takeaways across the country. Canberra’s prices didn’t stop there, though. Rashays in Greenway was also named Best New Dish of the year winner with its mouthwatering Biscoff Apple Crumble Pizza. This prize – and others in the so-called Trending categories of Menulogies – have been selected from data from the past year. More specifically, the store’s dessert pizza was the most ordered dish with a new trending ingredient—in this case, Biscoff. And just for a little giggle — or if you’re looking for restaurant ideas for an upcoming vacation — here’s who won some of the more interestingly named categories. The prize for the best meal to order after being dumped went to Loz’s Fish and Chip Shop in Sunbury, Victoria for its Dinner for One. This went to the most popular meal ordered on December 11, 2020, which is statistically the most common day for breakups. (It’s just an appropriate coincidence that this dish is special for it). The best munchies to order At 4:20 PM, the prize went to Sneaky Burger Co’s Sneaky Signature Burger in Albion Park, NSW. This was the most popular meal ordered on average at 4:20 p.m. in the past year. The Best Noods Sent was awarded to Kinn Green Hills in East Maitland, NSW for its spicy noodles. As you might suspect, this is the most popular noodle dish ordered in the past year. Top dishes ordered while watching Award shows were picked up by Hanson Pizza and Pasta Bar in South Australia’s Woodville North for its chicken schnitzel. And it was the most popular meal ordered at the Academy Awards, Grammys and Emmys in 2021.
