Catherine McPhee and David Foster set their roots in California. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, acquired a 0.42-acre property in the Brentwood Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The duo paid $7.05 million for a six-bedroom, five-bathroom home in an off-market deal in May, as first reported by dirt. Foster and McPhee, who welcomed their first child together in February, have big plans for the house, but they aren’t planning to move into the current 4,052-square-foot home just yet.

Shortly after purchasing the property, the couple submitted plans to obtain a building permit in the City of Los Angeles; for every dirtThe couple will raze the entire dwelling that currently occupies the land, and will build an entirely new, much larger mansion, with 7,449 square feet spread over two levels. They’re also adding a nearly 2,000-square-foot basement and a three-car garage.
The current two-story, soon-to-be demolished dwelling, originally built in 1929, features hardwood floors, a carpeted staircase, multiple fireplaces, and plenty of glass doors that lead into the backyard. There’s a college-shaped pool outside, with a brick deck and pocket for al fresco dining under a pergola.
Currently, Foster and McPhee are said to live in a stylish Los Angeles apartment that the Grammy-winning producer bought in 2015 before marrying McPhee, although the couple has apparently been looking for a home for a long time.
Foster and McVeigh were previously reported to have been considering homes in the upscale Montecito area of Santa Barbara, where friends Prince Harry and Meghan Markle currently reside in a $14.65 million mansion. It appears that for now, however, McPhee and Foster are planning to stay in Los Angeles, although they may still consider getting a resort in Montecito as well.
