China launches its first solar exploration satellite

BEIJING: China sent its first solar exploration satellite to space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the north of Shanxi province.
The satellite was launched aboard a Long March-2D rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit.
Ten small satellites, including an experimental orbital atmospheric density sensing satellite and an experimental commercial meteorological sensing constellation satellite, were also sent into space using the same carrier rocket, the state news agency Xinhua reported.
It was the 391st flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket Serie.
