Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green has said it’s not his job to convince teammate Andrew Wiggins to take a COVID-19 photo and has described the debate around vaccinated and unvaccinated players as a “political war.”

US media reports have said 95% of the league’s players to have had at least one blow. Unvaccinated players must comply with a long list of restrictions to play this season.

Last month, the NBA rejected Wiggins’ request for a religious exemption from the vaccine.

Green said he was not able to speak to Wiggins about the shooting and that it was a personal issue for him and his family.

“We are dealing with something that I think has turned into a political war when you talk about the vaccinated and the unvaccinated,” Green added.

“I think it has become very political.

The 2021-2022 season will begin on October 19 despite concerns about the contagious delta variant of the new coronavirus which has particularly hit those who are not vaccinated.
