Hawaii reports 77 new COVID cases; 6 additional fatalities

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii reported six additional COVID-related fatalities on Thanksgiving Day, bringing the death toll from the virus to 1,014.

The state said 77 new COVID infections have also been recorded. The total number of cases statewide during the pandemic has reached 87,183.

In the past 14 days, 1,407 cases have been discovered, according to the state.

Of the new infections reported on Thursday:

  • 25 were on Oahu
  • 16 on the island of Hawaii
  • 4 on Kauai
  • 32 on Maui

A resident was diagnosed out of state.

The state is no longer releasing daily details about where COVID deaths occurred, their age groups and whether those who died had underlying conditions.

About 72.4% of the state’s residents have been fully vaccinated, while 84.7% have received at least one dose.
