General news for Tuesday, September 14, 2021
The regional head of the ruling NDP Ashanti, Bernard Antwi Busiakou, has said he is ready to sponsor former President John Mahama’s campaign to win the 2024 flag bearer for his party.
According to him, the former president is a weak candidate because it will make NPPs 2024 “breaking Agenda 8” easier.
Speaking on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia,” he explained that the former president is very desperate for power, and thus is doing his best to win the 2024 elections.
“The former president is no match for us; I would like to sponsor his campaign for his candidacy for re-election as the flag bearer of his party.
The NPP has a master plan to ‘break the Eight Agenda’ of the party, and the only person who will help implement the agenda is former President John Dramani Mahama.
“I know the ex-president is not broken, but I will certainly sponsor his campaign for re-election as the party’s flag bearer, and I know that when he wins, it will be very easy for the PNP to win in 2024 and no matter who the party is running as a candidate for the 2024 election.”
Although the former president has not announced his return to compete and lead the Democratic National Convention, he is embarking on a “thank you” tour and meeting with party faithful across the country.
Former President John Mahama stormed the Ashanti region on Sunday, September 12, as part of a nationwide “Thank You” tour.
The two-day district tour will mark the end of the second phase of his tour, which aims to express gratitude to his supporters and members of the National Democratic Convention (NDC) for voting in the December 7, 2020 election.
The first leg of the tour began in August and resumed on Tuesday, September 7th in the eastern Puno District.
