Morgan County Deputy Sheriffs Find Explosive While Recovering Stolen Vehicle

MORGAN, Ala. (WAFF) – Morgan County officers found an explosive device Monday afternoon while recovering a stolen vehicle from a home in Somerville.

According to deputies, a stolen vehicle was recovered from a house on the 4600 block of Highway 36, and an explosive device was found behind the house in the process.

Officers say the crime scene has been secured and explosive ordnance disposal is on its way. According to MCSO, the device can be disposed of by being detonated by bomb technicians.

According to the deputies, there is no danger to the public.
