Nebraska Medicine Doc’s Tips To Moderate Holiday Drinking

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – With the holiday season approaching, alcohol sales are seeing a spike, rising about 250%. A doctor from Nebraska Medicine shares some memories about drinking and staying safe.

dr. Ken Zoucha is the director of the addiction medicine division of Nebraska Medicine in the psychiatry department. He says there are a few things people can do so they don’t drink too much during the holiday season.

“Thinking about things like making sure you eat, making sure you get enough sleep, making sure you drink on time. Like a drink for an hour or a drink and then a glass of water,” he said. “Those are suggestions that work for people trying to moderate their alcohol consumption during the holidays.”
