‘Please no’ – Tottenham fans were unimpressed when Antonio Conte targeted Manchester United player

Antonio Conte, he hopes, took the first of many Premier League wins for Tottenham this season with a 2-1 win against Leeds in north London.

The Italian took charge of the club after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked and optimism surrounding the club has grown enormously since the trade was made, with a series winner now in the dugout.

One thing Conte will always expect, however, is significant support in the transfer market, something the Spurs were not always willing to do.

The January transfer window is fast approaching and Conte will no doubt have his wish list ready.

The most recent name on it is the disgraced central defender Eric Bailly of Manchester United. The Ivory Coast international is currently behind Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof, so a departure could be a possibility.

However, Bailly still has three years left on his current contract at Old Trafford and given the 27-year-old’s past injuries, it’s not a rumor that’s causing much excitement.

Have your say on what CLUB should do in the January transfer window below

Conte has proven to be a shrewd operator in the transfer window, but Tottenham fans don’t seem to be behind this deal.

@Joshwiggan said: “Sanchez and Tanganga >”

@Billytheido said: “He’s not even an option for his own club. He can’t string two games together without getting injured.”

@sicknote_thfc said: “We have Sanchez who is younger and has no injury problems. We need a ball player, not another type of destroyer/stopper.”

@Manu23558 said: “His athleticism is among the best in the league, but his bones are glass. I don’t need another Lo celso.”

@s8tnclaus said, “Because a slot has opened up on the treatment table now that lamela is gone?”

@TixTottenham said, “No, thanks.”

@No_6ody said, “Please don’t.”
