His Excellency said that the process of shifting towards environmentally friendly energy sources in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership is witnessing major achievements and contributing to achieving the goals of the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to produce 50 percent of electricity from carbon-free sources.
He added: “We are proud of this new achievement of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Program, as the Barakah plant project is moving forward in contributing to the achievement of the UAE’s goals aimed at diversifying energy sources, increasing reliance on environmentally friendly sources, continuing the process of economic and social growth, as well as achieving its international goals and commitments in facing the challenges of climate change.” .
He continued, “The Barakah plants contribute pivotally to consolidating the UAE’s leading role in the energy sector at the regional and global levels, after the Barakah plants became the largest single source of electricity in the Arab world and the largest contributor to reducing the carbon footprint in the region. It also became the first Arab country to own a nuclear energy project.” Multi-station in operation.
His Excellency praised the pioneering and exceptional efforts led by the Emirati competencies at the Barakah plants, which succeeded in placing the UAE on the map of the global nuclear sector and made these achievements a global model that attracted the attention of various international bodies, organizations and experts specialized in the nuclear sector.
