“Squid Game” is the most popular show on Netflix, according to the streaming service’s public ranking system.
The new safety drama in South Korea follows a group of people who face financial struggles while competing in a mysterious game with a huge cash prize. They soon found out, however, that the competition was full of deadly rounds.
Next in rank is “Midnight Mass,” another original Netflix show from the creator of “The Haunting of Hill House.” The horror series, which premiered on Sept. 24, tells of a charismatic young priest who arrives in an isolated community and brings miracles, frightening signs and other supernatural experiences.
Rounding out the top three is “Gender Education,” which on September 17 debuted its third season of comedy and romance at Moordale Secondary School, based in a fictional UK town. Anglophiles will also be pleased to know that “The Great British Baking Show” has released a new season and has already made the rankings in its first week.
The only show on today’s list that isn’t produced or exclusively shared by Netflix is the family -friendly “CoComelon.” Just like this summer, “CoComelon” also has the most watched YouTube channel in the United States and the second most watched channel in the world.
