CHICAGO (NewsNation Now) – After receiving about 500 tips from viewers, John Walsh, host of “In Pursuit With John Walsh” on the Investigation Discovery network, believes he has narrowed down the list of possible locations BrianLaundrie could be in.
“We get at least three times more phone calls than we have about any fugitive,” Walsh said.
In just three seasons of his show, Walsh has helped authorities capture 26 fugitives and locate eight missing children. She covered Gabby Petito’s investigation on her show this week.
“We haven’t had this much attention since Elizabeth Smart,” Walsh said.
Walsh said the advice he’s received leads him to three possible locations: Mexico, the Bahamas, and the Appalachian Trail.
Walsh’s theory, which he said some of his advice also points to, is that Laundrie’s father or parents took him northwest over the Florida Panhandle to Mexico.
“I think they bought this guy for nine days,” Walsh said. “He had a huge advantage, so I say now with all the chaos at the border, I caught 45 guys in Mexico, they took him north, over the Panhandle.”
He also says he received information that Laundrie had been seen in Freeport in the Bahamas and that he had boasted that he had previously lived for three months on the Appalachian Trail.
Meanwhile, the seekers continued search for Laundrie on a Florida reservation.
A person of interest has been named in the death of 22-year-old Petito. This week, I was charged with one count of bank fraud connected to a debit card that he used after she disappeared.
