Yahya Waloni apologizes after regretting the humiliation of Christians

There was an interesting moment after the trial of Yahya Waloni, the suspect in the blasphemy case, at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel). The preacher admitted that he mocked Christianity and apologized to Christians.

At first, Yahya Walloni said the problems he’s going through tend to be ethical and moral issues. He therefore withdrew the pre-trial lawsuit previously brought by his legal counsel.

“Something I want to say is that my problem is not a serious problem, my problem is a matter of manners, politeness and morals. I think it has to do with what we went through in terms of the enforcement law rather than the pre-trial hearing,” said Yahya Waloni at the South Jakarta District Court, Jalan Ampera, South Jakarta , on Monday (9/27/2021), “Impossible for me and it has been approved.”

Yahya said he was raised in a morally good environment. But he realized that his words of advocacy went beyond the bounds of morality.

“I am in this case as an ordinary human being living educated in an ethical and moral environment, I apologize for my mistakes and mistakes that are not a good example in determining the result of adhering to the da’wah so that it goes beyond moral limits,” said Yahya Waloni.

He also said that he felt remorse after watching a video of his lecture, which was considered blasphemy against Christianity. He said that the content of his lectures, which tarnished Christianity, did not correspond to the teachings of the religion he practiced.

He added, “And that’s what I really regret after watching the video, it doesn’t seem to match what I’ve been doing up until now as a preacher. The Messenger taught us to always prioritize morals.”

“But before that in front of the public, and in front of the journalists, I apologize to the entire Indonesian community, and especially to my fellow Christians,” Yahya Waloni said.

He hopes there will be lessons to be learned from the legal case that took place in his company at this time. He also hopes to be a preacher who can set an example.

Yahya said, “I hope in the future God Almighty will give me better wisdom to be an example preacher. So the success of NKRI, all sons and daughters of the nation, I hope God help us all.”
